Established 2019, Piscean is an independent multimedia label in the heart of Treaty Six Territory. We are proud of our Canadian roots, and believe in platforming locally-made arts and culture.

We believe in artists owning their own intellectual properties, and the prioritization of creative vision over profitability. Our collective seeks to be a uniform hub for creators with both niche and wide-ranging specialties.

Why "Piscean"? Our iconography does not intend any serious devotion to astrology, rather, it promotes the Pisces-associated imagery: water is ever-moving and adaptive to its surroundings. It holds profound power and significance in many cultures, and water can both nourish and destroy; the term "Piscean" implies control of this water. Our logo depicting entwined koi fish symbolizes balance, courage, and resilience.

What are our current methods of operation? At this time, we can be considered a vanity label, and are managed and maintained by a team of one. Ideally, Piscean will one day take on management of multiple creators. This managing will entail taking only a marginal fee from creators' earnings, with this revenue going straight into promotion and production of goods. Honest business is the only business we wish to take part in.

What are our future plans? We hope to foray more into physical publishing in the coming years. This print label will allow us to create high quality independent publications in both physical and digital formats.
